How to Write an Effective and Achievable IDP: Developing Meaningful and Measurable
Objectives and Activities focuses on four key areas:
- Benefits of creating a comprehensive Individual Development Plan (IDP);
- Developing specific measurable objectives for employee development that also aid the agency / organization in achieving its strategic goals and mission;
- Mapping development objectives to specific career, agency, or job-related skills, knowledge or abilities, and goals and gaps; and
- Identifying suitable and meaningful learning and development activities with specific measurable outcomes.
To maximize the learning experience, participants are encouraged to have a copy of their current IDP available for reference.
