KANSAS CITY REGIONAL INTERAGENCY CONTINUITY EXERCISE 2018 (KC RICE ‘18) AND ST. LOUIS INTERAGENCY CONTINUITY EXERCISE 2018 (SLICE ‘18)

Wed, July 25, 2018 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Kansas City and St. Louis Federal Executive Board’s Continuity Working Groups will conduct a Continuity Exercise on July 25, 2018. Participating agencies will activate their respective Continuity Plans in response to events that affect the Kansas City and St. Louis metropolitan area. Agencies will have a chance to validate their plans, processes and procedures in accordance with Federal Continuity Directive 1 (FCD 1). Participation in this Exercise will meet the annual deployment exercise requirement proscribed FCD-1 Annex K. KC RICE ‘18 will run concurrent with the SLICE ‘18.

Each participating agency will test their Continuity Plan from their Continuity Facility and/or telework locations as outlined in their plan. In addition, each agency must appoint a Lead Controller who will serve as a Trusted Agent. This individual will manage the exercise from the Continuity Facility and will not serve as a player or evaluator, unless necessary for the D/A. Actions they will perform include releasing exercise action items as listed in the Master Sequence Events List (MSEL) and recording agency actions to MSEL injects. As such, this individual will have advance access to the MSEL and should not be considered a player in the exercise.

To register your agency to participate in KC RICE-SLICE ‘18, please complete registration by Close of Business June 15, 2018.
