Description:
Persuasion @ Work (in the morning)
Every day you are persuading someone or someone is trying to persuade you. Learn persuasion techniques to help “sell” yourself and your ideas. Let’s face it – if you have a great idea, but can’t convince anyone, you are going to be frustrated.
Persuasion is a useful skill in all areas of life, personal and professional. Besides, you are already being persuaded or trying to persuade whether you realize it or not – let’s learn how to be more effective in practicing this art!
Effective Communication in Difficult Situations (AKA Dealing with Difficult People) (in the afternoon)
Everyone has at least one person in their lives that causes a little bit (OK – A LOT) of anxiety whenever you have to communicate with them. Using techniques from the book “Dealing with People You Can’t Stand” by Rick Brinkman & Rick Kirschner (which can be found in Books 24×7 at no cost!) – you will be ready to meet the challenges of communicating with a “Tank”, “Whiner”, “Martyr”, and “Meddlers” – and have a handy reference to keep at your desktop to refer back to after the class. This will come in handy, because it’s always nice to review some strategies before you have to deal with that person who is a “Grenade”!!!
Who knows, maybe you will be able to turn that “Difficult Person” into your new best friend! (no guarantees are made that this will occur, however!)
